Community Resource Card for Police to Hand Out on All Calls

This resource card was created at the request of Hardwick/New Braintree police who give the card out on most police calls. It includes information about DV services – AND other important local resources such housing, food pantries, transportation information and more. Similar cards have been created for 6 towns.

Police & Community Response: Impact Report

This three-year analysis of State Police response to domestic violence in the hilltowns showed that after years of local coordinated community response the number of calls from victims, the number of restraining orders requested, and the number of arrests all increased. However, the number of serious injuries due to domestic violence decreased leading State Police to believe that victims were calling for help sooner and staying safer.
